I’LL Drink To That: Harry’s Reopens As A Social Enterprise
The Herald Scotland has happily reported that Harry’s, a renowned Edinburgh bar, has reopened. Retaining its legendary dance floor may be first and foremost in everyone’s mind, its also happens to be the capitol’s first “social enterprise pub.” What is a social enterprise? Well for starters Chris Thewlis, who reopened the bar, has pledged a percentage of profits will be used to help young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
According to Chris, “I’m certain that Harry’s will prosper, as it once did, and that it’ll again be a popular and much-loved meeting place, a place where people can enjoy themselves. And we aim to make it profitable. The more money it makes, the more people it can help and the better it will be.”
So what is a social enterprise? Grab a glass of wine and look it up.
We heard You.
